KAM Holding ICONS of Sustainability

Kam Steel Integrated Company Limited is committed to producing reinforcement steel and wire rods that meet customer requirement while conforming to national and international standards. We shall achieve this by; continually improving our products; constantly reviewing our processes, developing employee skills and their contribution through effective training.

Our ICONS of Sustainability ensure that we have a healthy respect for Environment, Economy and Society. Dealing with metals has opened our eyes to the fundamentals of living in a non-hazadous environment, leaving minimal carbon footprints and ensuring health and safety for all.
The green economy mainly aims to fight ecological threats, to improve social well being. KAM Holding is a pace setter in green revolution, we are mindful of the health and safety of our employees, our communities and environment.
Wherever you see these icons, know we mean business.

Going green means using environmentally friendly products and services. Sustainability means using products or services in a way that does not damage the future generations' resources. Hence, while a final product may be green, its manufacturing or production process may not be sustainable at all.

KAM Ecosystem
REUSE AND RECYCLE

KAM Ecosystem is environmentally friendly.
We recycle 600,000 Tonnes of scrap metal a year. This ensures the reduction of carbon footprints thus making the environment safe.
Scrap metal from all over Nigeria means that our recycling policy embraces a no-waste approach to solving the problems of emissions.
Reuse and Recycle Scrap consists of recyclable materials, usually metals, left over from product manufacturing and consumption, such as parts of vehicles, building supplies, and surplus materials. Unlike waste, scrap has monetary value, especially recovered metals, and non-metallic materials are also recovered for recycling. Once collected, the materials are sorted into types — typically metal scrap will be crushed, shredded, and sorted using mechanical processes.
Recycling conserves resources, energy, and water while lowering greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, it creates a new industrial structure and jobs.
There is little question that the advantages of recycling our waste outweigh the straightforward, regular activity required.
Scrap recycling is important for creating a more sustainable economy or creating a circular economy, using significantly less energy and having far less environmental impact than producing metal from ore.
Metal recycling, especially of structural steel, ships, used manufactured goods, such as vehicles and white goods, is a major industrial activity with complex networks of wrecking yards, sorting facilities, and recycling plants.
According to research conducted by the US Environmental Protection Agency, recycling scrap metals can be quite beneficial to the environment. Using recycled scrap metal in place of virgin iron ore can yield:[7] 75% savings in energy. 90% savings in raw materials used. 86% reduction in air pollution.40% reduction in water use. 76% reduction in water pollution. 97% reduction in mining wastes.
Every ton of new steel made from scrap steel saves:1,115 kg of iron ore.625 kg of coal.53 kg of limestone. Energy savings from other metals include: Aluminum savings of 95% energy. Copper savings of 85% energy. Lead savings of 65% energy. Zinc savings of 60% energy.
