PACKAGING AND POLYTHENE

Polythene also known as Polyethylene packaging protects thousands of everyday consumer products including items in personal wellness, food and beverage, consumer packaged goods, personal care, and more. Polythene (PE), one of the most common plastics produced globally, is often used to create polymer packaging due to its ability to be both durable and pliable. Both high-density polythene (HDPE) and linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) are regularly used to create protective packaging such as films, grocery bags, wrappers, and bottles.

Regardless of the end-use or industry, polythene packaging plays an important role in keeping consumer supplies safe and free of potentially harmful contaminants at all stages of the supply chain.

High Density Polythene is strong and resistant to moisture and chemicals, which makes it ideal for cartons, containers, pipes and other building materials. Examples: Milk cartons, detergent bottles, cereal box liners, toys, buckets, park benches and rigid pipes. Principal uses are in packaging film, trash and grocery bags, agricultural mulch, wire and cable insulation, squeeze bottles, toys, and housewares.
